Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 packet 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • cups warm milk 110°F
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing
  • For Cinnamon Honey Butter optional:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Activate Yeast:
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Stir in yeast and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Make Dough:
  4. Add egg, softened butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead Dough:
  6. Knead on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  7. First Rise:
  8. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  9. Shape Rolls:
  10. Punch down dough and roll out to ½-inch thickness. Cut into squares or rounds and place on a greased baking sheet.
  11. Second Rise:
  12. Cover and let rise for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
  13. Bake Rolls:
  14. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  15. Brush & Serve:
  16. Brush warm rolls with melted butter. Serve with optional cinnamon honey butter.
