Activate Yeast:
In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Stir in yeast and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make Dough:
Add egg, softened butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead Dough:
Knead on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
First Rise:
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape Rolls:
Punch down dough and roll out to ½-inch thickness. Cut into squares or rounds and place on a greased baking sheet.
Second Rise:
Cover and let rise for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
Bake Rolls:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush & Serve:
Brush warm rolls with melted butter. Serve with optional cinnamon honey butter.
